badai oh badai

i’m full. christmas have caused me to gain almost a kilo. all the turkeys and mince pies. not that i celebrate them, but this is the only time of the year i could get halal turkey and an unlimited supply of mince pies. and not to mention the sale and boxing day. i almost bought myself a PS3, but suddenly realized that i dont a digital TV to compliment it. so i bought an LCD TV instead. PS3 can wait…

anyways, this piece is done for another pergh battle. we’re redesigning nie feng (otherwise known as penjejak badai) from the fung wan comics (pedang setiawan). underlined with pencils, i painted over in painter 9.5, and added some highlights in photoshop. spent about 6 hours.

matrigal: red ghost

i started this when i fell with a fever about almost a year back. somehow i managed to forgotten all about it. and it took another fever a few days back to remind me to finish this piece off.

the 3d model was done in sketchup, basically throwing stuff around without really making any sense. i tried to get a feel of chaos, something of a post-war feel, complimentary to the world of matrigal. then i exported it in grayscale, and painted over in painter 9.5. added the red ghost there as well. this is the first time ever that i’ve used the pallette knife tool. pretty nifty. later transferred into photoshop for after effects. finally i went into coreldraw to add some letterings to break the monotone.

i might need a few hours more to add in more details and basically finish this up entirely. but still running a fever, so perhaps later.

Girls of azarimy’s Mansion

each of the girls above was done on an A4 sized paper, drawn individually with pencils and ink. then each an every one of them were scanned and cleaned using photoshop. then the individual images were composed in a single canvas, resized and adjusted to create a line up of girls. later on, the composed canvas was exported into painter for painting. i intentionally paint the girls in one go, to achieve a controlled pallete over them. i intend to colour the outlines, but it would have taken too long and too tedious. i’ve already spent 7 hours up to this point alone.

after painting the drawing in painter, the raw image was then exported back to photoshop for finishing touches. in photoshop, the image was retouched by adjusting its brighness contrast value as well as saturations. then several highlights using colour dodge tool to enhance the glare, glow and shines. in total, 7 hours plus.

Kill Jill

now that eid is gone, i can spend more time concentrating on other stuff hehe. 2 hours plus on this one, a reiteration of kill bill’s the bride character.

matrigal-kusanagi approaching

and another presentation coming in. had to do something to get my engines warmed up.

this piece was done over a period of 7 days, with 12 hours accumulated time. i almost gave up halfway bcoz i’m currently very busy tying up the gap between vitruvius’ understanding of commnity learning in architecture education and plato’s elegant elitist approach. well, i’ll tell u all about it later on.

for now, enjoy!
