Main Characters

Major (36 years old)

Esteemed, charismatic leader of the Knights of Jihad is previously known by her real name, Asuka. She retired from the Imperial Army after she lost her right arm in a duel with Helena. Although Major won the duel, she opted not to have her arm reconstructed due to her beliefs. She retired with the rank of Major, and that’s what she’s known as.

Major is a woman of principles, highly respected and charismatic. She inspires all her followers by her simple presence, and after a few deeds for the common people; she has won the hearts of many. Her followers grew, but many are women who have lost their families, husbands or loved ones. Above all, she is against violence, and always believes there is always a better way other than that.

Every now and then she seeks consult from Ankarah the wise, as she highly respects the old man for his high wisdom. She even thought of him as her own father, as she never knew one. Ankarah have always cautioned her about the intentions of Rafandi, who like her, is after the same goal, installing power to the people via the Republic. Yet despite sharing the same aspiration, Rafandi is willing to stoop down to the lowest levels to get the job done, while Major prefers a more noble approach.

Harasa (19 years old)

The young nobleman, great nephew of Empress Juna, rose up the political ladder through the military path. Despite his young age, Harasa have garnered enough knowledge and experience to become respectable enough to join the Council of Nobles. He is generally calm and always deep in thought. He sympathizes to the common people of Parsas, and always resorts to diplomatic solutions in settling disputes among them.

During his frequent visits to the Council of Nobles, he met Annisa, whom he eventually fell in love with. After Datuk Merah’s death, Annisa’s father, someone has whispered treason to the ears of Dato’ Mahagrasy, which then lead to Annisa and her family being thrown away from the Council of Nobles.

Harasa, young and naïve, felt it is better to leave the matter to those in charge and did not attempt to defend Annisa even though he knew he was the only person she could depend upon. After she left, Harasa felt empty, and seeks to fulfill his life understanding the political tactics in the Council of Nobles. At the same time, as a military officer with the rank of Captain, he continues to serve the emperor under direct supervision from Helena.

Helena (33 years old)

The stern and vicious military field commander of the Imperial Army now commands the entire offensive wing with the rank of Legionary Colonel. Previously the leader of the insidious imperial assassins known as the Widowmakers, she has risen to command the armies of the emperor.

Helena is well known for her short temper. But even with that, her military prowess is unrivaled. Her brilliant tactics in the Siege of the South has become textbook reference for all military officers. She is capable of thinking outside the box, and is quite unpredictable in terms of battle maneuvers.

As she became more and more influential, she became very close to Empress Juna. With her blessings, Helena now widens her influence into the political territories of the empire. This clearly threatens Dato’ Mahagrasy’s status as Emperor Darius’ right hand and political advisor. Although the rift is unnoticeable to the common eye, the love of the empress to her clearly driving the two apart.
