Once a week, hopefully.

i’m gonna try to produce one BFBC2 comic strip a week. hopefully the consistency can keep you all coming back ;) . so here’s this week’s.

today’s the day…

i woke up on sunday morning with thick snow and a message from DICE_Pirelli. he suggested a story for the comics. i’ve already got two in the production pipeline, so i thought, sure. i read it and i laughed out loud. it’s simple and brilliant. so i quickly put this before the others and finished it off. i hope i managed to capture the essence of the humor like the several lines of text DICE_Pirelli sent me :D .

you can read the rest of the comics here.

BFBC2: Comics

Here’s a couple of comics inspired by the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 game. I was involved as a beta tester on the PS3, and I’d have to say if you liked BFBC1, you’re gonna love this. All are done digitally using a Wacom tablet and Painter 10.5 with a bit of CorelDraw and Photoshop. Best part is, it’s now been given an official nod from the developers themselves! Thanks DICE EA!

Splintered Core Series: 01 Sniper’s Kiss

this is the first t-shirt design in a series of five for the splintered core game. splintered core is an upcoming online game which i’m involved as art director, and this series will be released as part of the promotion of the game. this is not the final design. i will only showcase the final product here when it has been printed ;) .

done using painter 10 and manga studio 3.0 debut.

quesada-meet-otomo

yet again another style embraced.

a friend of mine pointed out how my style (or rather “styles”) have gone from impressionistic pencils to 3D assisted sceneries to animated pixel arts. “wouldn’t you want to stick to one style and develop it more?”. would i? i doubt so.

i rather enjoy being able to explore different styles, producing significantly different products while at the same time maintaining the essence of azarimy. u can still notice my preferred exaggeration of proportions, camera/lense action and focus, pseudo-realistic colours and my weak use of lighting. it’s all there. i never intend to be realistic, as i dont find the need to. i evolved from quesada-meet-otomo style, and that’s where i’m sticking to ;) .

owh, you can see clearly the quesada influence in the pencils below:
